Jimmy Mackey Obituary

Jimmy Mackey, age 70, of Midland, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel, with Pastor Randall McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Jimmy was born in Colorado City, Texas, on November 26, 1940, to Cecil and Syble Mackey. He lived in Eldorado, Fort Stockton, & Midland, Texas. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1959. Jimmy worked for Northern Natural Gas, which became Enron, and retired with over 35 years of service. Jimmy was a very loving and devoted husband, dad, and papa. He loved to fish, play cards, and spend time with family and friends. He was a friend to everyone he met and was always there to help out. He will be greatly missed. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Georgia Mackey; daughter, Diana Barnes of Midland; son, Don Mackey of Midland; daughter, Susie Keena of Midland; son, Gary Ellis of Midland; sons, Glen and Paul (Otis) Ellis of Wichita Falls; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Mackey, mother, Syble Mackey, and daughter, DeEtta Wilson. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the American Cancer Society, 2304 West Wadley Avenue, Midland, TX 79705, and to American Diabetes Association, 10 Desta Dr # 120B, Midland, TX 79705.
