Great memories! Mike always treated me well.

I have some of my fondest memories working for Mike developing the software for his stores. I had a great time getting to know him and everyone at Currency One. What I loved about working for him was how intimate the working relationships were. I have never since worked at any place where it felt so much like a family. Mike treated me not like an employee but as a person, a friend, and even a son.

He had a crazy sense of humor and I can't tell you how many stories I have where he really made me laugh. I'm blessed having known him. He was a generous man.

My condolences to his friends and family.

I started working for Mike when I was fifteen. He gave me my first after school job. Mike was the GREATEST Boss anyone could ever ask for. He was always understanding. All together I worked for about 13 years for Mike. My heart goes out to the entire Carlone family. Mike will truly be miss. Michael you will always have a special place in my heart!!

November 4, 2011

Dear Everyone,
I have had the privilege to know Michael since I was 12 years old. Donna and myself would be at the Carlone home (Mom and Dad), and listen through the walls to know what "older boys" are interested in. I was intrigued by Michaels saavy ways. Then, the Damn blow dryer went on. No more info. Michael always looked so handsome and was so in charge of everyone because of his undeniable charisma and charm. I always wanted to date him, however,he was too good for me. I still feel that way..The Carlone Family was always my respite...I love and thank all of you... especially my BFF Donna

I could not read all of the condolences without remembering the laughs and the many lessons I learned from Mike. You don't know you are in the good old days until they are over. Mike was larger than life, and more than a friend. I will never stop being grateful for the support and kindness I received from him from the opening of his first store. I thank God for his presence in my life, he will never be forgotten.

May God continue to bless his family and all those he blessed

To the Carlone family,

I honestly do not think that this post will do justice to the man that you were. I worked for you but, I thought of you as more than a boss. We shared great times and also sad ones as well. But, one of the fondest memories I have is when you came into Kristian's Restaurant and gave me your dinner because the owner would not let me eat with you and Walt. Those little things like your generousity will not be matched by any indivdual that I ever come across. My friend I know you be missed by many and I feel that you can now rest easy.

Until we hang out again on the other side,

Big Dog

Micheal Carlone was my first boss. I remember calling the main office looking for what store my mom was working. I was young at the time and didn't realize how much I really knew. For those who knew mike had a lot of stores and I would call to to talk to him and he would start giving me the number to where my mom was, only thing is he would start the number but I would always finish it. He got a kick out of that and told my mom I needed to work in his store cause I knew them better then he did. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. RIP Mike

I can't even begin to express the sadness in my heart. I worked for Mike for over 15 years…starting with the Paging Company and then for Currency One. He was and will always be THE BEST BOSS ever!!! I have so many wonderful memories of him that I will cherish forever! His children said it best... He never thought of himself and ALWAYS thought of others. Mike was so generous, thoughtful and such a caring man and yet he had a gruff, and stern exterior that could have you shaking in your boots on some instances, but we always knew him to have a precious heart! I can honestly say that I am devastated over his passing and I will never forget him! Mike you were bigger than life in my eyes and I'm truly grateful for knowing you! I love you!!

Danny, Donna, Christopher, Nat, Andrew and Gianna,
My deepest condolences go out to all of you at this time. He was a great man and will be missed dearly by all who knew him!

Daddy:
You will be greatly missed. All we can say is that you always gave more then you got. Never thought about yourself much...always others. That is truly amazing. You provided us from the time we were babies until now with things we will cherish forever. Including those great memories. We had such good times and great laughs that still make us crack up when we think about it. We are so glad to be your children and you'll be remembered forever. Say hello to Poppy Skip for us!!

Love always,
Dopy (Christopher)
Weezy (Natalie)

Baby Girl (Gianna)

P.S.- All are welcome to come on Saturday, November 5th, to the funeral at Queen of Peace in Ardsley, PA. Details to be posted Friday 11/4/11 in the Obituary section of the local newspaper.

Mike will be sorely missed. He was the #1 Check Casher in Philadelphia back in the day. I was the Sales Rep. who was responsible for all of Mike's Westside, Cash America & Currency One store. We used to call him the God Father of Check Cashing. So, on behalf of the SEPTA Sales Department we bid you farewell:-( You were 1 of a kind.
