Kenneth Fussell Obituary

KENNETH "KENNY" HAYES FUSSELL

Kenneth "Kenny" Hayes Fussell, age 59, of Hampstead died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born August 8, 1951 in Duplin County; the son of Sara Rouse Fussell of Burgaw and the late Lester Frank Fussell, Sr.

In addition to his beloved mother Kenny is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Fussell Lonander of Hampstead; grandchildren, Isaac Hayes Lonander and Elora Marie Lonander; brother, Frank Fussell, Jr. (Holly) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and his life love, Lynn Pridgen.

Kenny loved life and lived each day to the fullest with laughter and love in his heart. He was a man that survived by the sea and will find eternal rest by the sea. Kenney's joyful spirit, zest for adventure, love of nature and his thoughtfulness of others will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at his home, 246 Hickory Point Road Ext., Hampstead, NC 28443 with Pastor Mark Tippett officiating. Casual attire will be appreciated.

I worked for Mr. Kenny as I called him when he owned the West End Tavern in Burgaw. He was the best boss I have ever worked for. Always caring and the sweetest man. I havent seen him in quite sometime but he will never be forgotten. I have very fond memories of working with him especially while the blueberry fest was going on and we had the kitchen hoping. You will always be remembered and missed Mr. Kenny! Rest in Peace

I went to school with Kenny and I am so sad about his passing. I haven't seen him in years but, I have always had good memories of him. My prayers go to his family and hope to see him again one day in the arms of Jesus.

I went to school with Kenny Hayes, as we all called him. He was always laughing and happy. I haven't seen him in many years, but still remember those wonderful high school days at Burgaw High.

He certainly was wery thoughtful as he wan always bringing fish or vegetables he had grown or caught. He was a friend to me and I will always miss trading jokes with him, but I know we will get to do it again in a better place. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
