The only time I saw Nick without a smile was when he had just lost his friend a couple of years ago. The gleam in his eyes, and that broad smile

always cheered me and anyone else around. Nick lived life to the fullest. And he left a mystery. Where did he leave all of those P.O. Box keys that he lost? We'll never know.

I did not know Nick but from what I have read here, I wish I had. He sounds like the kind of guy I would have liked to ride and hang around with. My wife and I were on the ride that Saturday. I was the first one to Nick after the accident, and being trained as a First Responder, I can honestly say that Nick did not suffer, even a little. I wish I could have done something for Nick, but he passed quickly and without pain. He was treated with the respect he deserved.

My condolences are with the family and may Nick ride in peace forever.

Goodbye Brother rider.

My wife and I met Nick several years ago at Al's in St. Louis Park. We became friends that first day and when we found out who we knew together it seemed like we'd been friends for years. We shared a love of motorcycles and had many laughs together. Nick will be missed by everyone who ever met him, and our hearts go out to his family.

May 9, 2006

Nick's been a brother of mine since the old Barking Ducks/Archie's days-Always looked out for me and had a smile and a hug as well.

I spoke to him on saturday afternoon-told him I'd gone back to working horses-He was so genuinely happy for me-the last 25 years he's seen them come and go from my life-and how unhappy I was when I was away from them.He gave me a great big smile when he told me he was happy to see me doing what I'm good at, and what I love again for a change...I am so glad that the last time I saw him was no different than every other moment I ever got to spend time with Nick-a big hug, a smile and the support you only get from true brothers.

The quilt that is our riding family has a piece missing that won't soon be repaired.I will miss my brother Nick.
