Dear Finn family,
I am so deeply saddened for your loss and send out my thougts and prayers. I just learned of his untimely passing via some of our Albany Academy classmates from the class of 1994. Matthew was a great person and inspiration to me personally and I will never forget him. God Bless all of you in this most difficult time.

We are friends of Kate Winton's parents, Janet and Mike Winton. We were so sorry to hear of Matt's death. We never met Matt, but over the last year Janet and Mike told us a great deal about Mike, his good character, and admirable accomplishments.

A father hopes that his daughter willl find a good man. Kate found a wonderful person with whom to share her life and Matt found a wonderful women to be his partner on life's journey. He loved her very much and she loved him equally in return.
With Matt, we found a kind, caring, nuturing man who had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was an instant hit with the extended Winton family, quickly fitting right in with all the relatives from Texas. On so many occasions, we had great fun spending time with Kate and him.
We also found Matt to be a very accomplished individual with the intelligence, skills, and determination necessary to achieve even greater things as his careeer progressed.
We will never forget Matt Finn and will cherish the times we were in his company.
In his memory, we will be strong for our daughter.
Bless the Finn family and keep them strong.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I worked with Matt before, and at the beginning of his battle with Hodgkins. I remember how brave and candid he was about his disease.
While I didn't know him for very long I remember his enthusiasm, spirit and joy. I often thought "there's a guy who is so great to work with--too bad more of my co-workers couldn't be like Matt." He was genuine, caring and an all-around great person.

Dear Joann & Jim To lose a child I would imagine is the most unbearable pain a person can go through. I know some day you'll have your answer's but for now you have your god , family and friend's. May it help some to know we weep with you and share this awful pain. Joann , I always enjoyed our night shift's at the VA where we would keep each other awake by sharing stories of are favorite topic , our children. Those storie's and memorie's of Matt will live on forever.
