ELLA DOROTHY JAMES (Jatter)  (Age 92)  
Of Wheaton, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Stanley J. D. James; devoted mother of Michael James of Wheaton, MD; Denis James of Washington, DC and Veronica (Steve) Wahrhaftig of Potomac, MD; sister of the late Frederick Jatter and the late Doris Sharp; grandmother of Candace Reed, Rebecca Wahrhaftig and Laura Wahrhaftig; great-grandmother of Corina and Xavier Reed; aunt of: Susan (Norman) Ruth and Kelly Thompson of York, PA and Gregory Ruth of Mission Viejo, CA, Monica Gutteridge and Octavia Gutteridge of Cornwall England, Paul Jatter and Peter Plume of England. In addition to her blood relatives and in-laws, Mrs. James had a special relationship with Jennifer Cogley and Patricia Cogley of Oakland, CA, and Ashlee Zhang of Potomac, MD. Born in London, England, Mrs. James emigrated to the US in 1955 with her husband, Stanley and two young sons, Michael and Denis, settling in Montgomery County, MD. In 1960, her daughter Veronica was born. She lived with her family in Montgomery County, MD, until her death, and for the last 49 years in Wheaton, MD. An avid gardener and bird-watcher, Mrs. James was also a volunteer at the Wheaton Nursing Home (Now Manor Care Wheaton.) She was a talented amateur painter, working in water colors and oils. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, Tuesday July 24, 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Interment following immediately at Parklawn Memorial Park.
