Jeremy L. Stacey dreamed of one day going to college and becoming a writer. His mother said he was very handy on the computer and would create illustrations for his stories. "He''s a fiction writer," said his mother, Betty Click. "He had his writings in a laptop with him, but I''m not sure if I''ll even be able to get to them now because he had a password." Stacey, 23, of Bismarck, Ark., was killed July 5 in Baghdad by an explosive. He was a 2003 high school graduate and was assigned to Fort Bliss. Click described her son as the family''s protector who kept a close eye on his four younger sisters as they grew up in Texas and Arkansas. She remembers times when he was little boy running around in his cousin''s snow boots in the middle of summer heat and spending the whole night playing video games. He last spoke to her in mid-June. "He just called to let me know that he was OK, but that things were getting a little rough," Click said. "I always worried about him." LaTavia Tart, a secretary at his high school, remembered Stacey as fun-loving person who liked to "cut up," but also as someone who was very respectable.
