Joe and family--I am so sorry for your loss. I was away at the time, or I would have been at the services. I have tried to reach you by phone, Joe, but was told it was the wrong #. Duffy was a talented person, musical, great Mother and woman. I feel enriched by having known her personally. The world has lost a good person, and she was unique! Love,

Sending sincere sympathy to the entire Lyon Family on the loss of your mother. We are friends with Greg/Kathy Lyon & our kids grew up together. Our special memory is going to the Iowa State Fair when Norma "Duffy" created The Last Supper. It may have been a contradictory piece to some; yet to us, it was truly GOD Given Talent! May your Mom rest in peace. Take Care, Kevin/Kathy/Josh/Tommy/Aaron/Ariel Schlue-Davenport,IA.

Please accept my sympathy at such a sad time. Losing a parent is a difficult experience to go through. Reading your Mother's obituary made me think of my Dad who was raised on a small farm in Western NY and died last year. Everyone loved him and losing him was a shock even though he was 90. May your family be comforted by loving memories of your Mother.

There are certain iconic things about the Iowa State Fair - Bill Riley Talent Search, corn dogs, anything fried on a stick - but the one I've enjoyed the most is "Duffy" Lyon & her butter sculptures. She truly was, is, & always will be an Iowa State Fair icon! To her family & friends, God bless & keep you, & always keep your memories close by.

As a kid I always went to the Iowa State Fair and every year it was a treat to view the butter sculpture. There was nothing like it anywhere else. I'm glad to finally know about the sculptor. What a wonderful gift she was to all of Iowa.

To the family of Ms Lyon,
You can see from her expresstion in the photo that Ms Lyon was a very happy woman, and this stemmed from her being conscience of her spiritual need Matt 5:3. What and joy it will be when Rev 23:3,4 comes to pass and all of Jehovh's loyal servants will be reunited with her hear on paradise Earth.
