Margaret Palmer Obituary

Margaret Palmer

87, passed away October 13, 2014. Margaret was born in March 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Turner and Rose Sims. It was love at first sight for Margaret, as she married her love Paul Palmer. She would remain in love with him for 72+ years.

Margaret was a steward of her community. She knew no stranger and treated everyone the way she also wanted to be treated; with love, kindness, and respect. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many and will be sadly missed by all. She was a Christian lady and was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church for many years. There, she also attended their Ladies Club. Margaret also enjoyed playing dominoes and marbles, crafting, beading, and assisting the elderly in tax preparation.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Paul Palmer, Sr.; their daughter, Pauline (Robert) Jones; grandchildren, Dannye Ivey, Tyrone Palmer, Letra Rose Otey, Paul Palmer, Jr. II, Kenneth Harold Palmer, Jr., Joseph Palmer, and Brenda Jo Powell; many great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Saul (Charlotte) Palmer; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Turner Simms II and John Slyvester Sims; and sons, Paul Palmer, Jr and Kenneth Harold Palmer.
