Cody Wolf Obituary

In Loving Memory of Cody Matthew Wolf

Cody Matthew Wolf, a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend, passed away unexpectedly April 29, 2017, in Spokane, Washington. Cody was born January 19, 1988, in Ketchikan, Alaska. He is the son of Kirk (Tracy) Wolf of Ketchikan and Jodi (Dave) Garrison of Juneau, Alaska.

Growing up Cody was known for his spunky personality and athleticism. He played baseball, basketball, football, league bowling, and wrestling...he did it all. Outside of sports, he was an avid reader, enjoyed skateboarding, skiing, and riding his dirt bike, and he loved animals. As a resourceful young entrepreneur, he was often found selling his toys and creations to friends and neighbors. He absolutely adored his older brother Nicholaus Wolf and followed him everywhere from the time he could walk.

Cody graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 2006 where he excelled in wrestling and baseball. He obtained his Business Administration Associate in Applied Sciences degree from Brookhaven College while living in Texas. He was a gifted carpenter and could make just about anything with his hands. He loved fishing and being on the water and found serenity in the outdoors, spending many weekends hiking, camping, and hunting with family and friends. He was also a very talented pool player and met his match in fiancée Barbara Bolden, of Dallas Texas. Barb shared his passion for the game and they could often be found competing in tournaments together. Cody loved Barb and brought her home to Alaska where she quickly adapted to the Alaskan way of life.

Cody was always the fun in the room, the light, no matter what was going on. He had a way of making the people around him feel special and needed and made friends easily wherever he went. He was thoughtful and kind and people were naturally drawn to him. He loved his family deeply and especially adored his young cousins. Cody had such a love for life and a sense of empathy for others, and didn't often share his struggle with depression and anxiety which he battled for years. He was a beautiful soul and leaves behind a trail of precious memories. Cody is deeply missed but will continue to live on through our cherished memories and the many special moments we had the privilege to experience with him.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandpa Raymond Bellarosa and his uncle Raymond Bellarosa III.

He is survived by his parents Jodi (Dave) Garrison, and Kirk (Tracy) Wolf, brother Nicholaus (Beth) Wolf, nephew James Thomas Wolf, fiancée Barbara Bolden, grandparents John & Judith Smith, Glenn & Nancy Wolf, David & Eugenia Garrison, and Rosie Canfield, aunts Anne-Marie (Jon) Myhre, Sheri (Scott) Gundlach, and Michelle Wolf, uncles James Bellarosa and Clint Crellin, and numerous other family members and many, many friends.

I am so sorry to read of Cody passing. I played in a pool league with Cody while living in TX for many years. Cody was a great shot! Cody was a bright and outgoing person who lit up the room with his smile and outgoing personality. When he moved to Alaska and had Barb by his side, we would talk by phone and I could tell he was so happy! He will truly be missed by many! My thoughts and prayers to you Barb, and his loving and caring family.

When someone has been a part of such a great number of lives for such a short time, it is hard to see them go. My condolences go out to the family. Draw courage and comfort from knowing that God has promised that "death will be brought to nothing"(1 Cor 15:26).

"He will wipe out every tear from their eyes...." May comfort come to your hearts dear ones.
