I don´t even know where to begin Pop.. Losing you is something that will affect me and many others for a very long time. You were the patriarch and defender of our family, our family business, and so much more.. and without you here so much of it seems to have fallen apart. You defended us all from the jackals and as long as you were there we all knew that no matter what we would be ok.. But you taught us well and we will rebuild and carry on in your absence honoring your memory every step of the way. Not a day goes by that I don´t find myself holding back tears from missing you so much. I hear you when I speak. I hear you when I laugh. I hear you when I tell the jokes you told that made everyone you met smile and laugh. I see you when I look in the mirror. You´re next to me when I´m installing irrigation as you taught me to. You´re next to me when I´m pushing the lawnmower in straight lines as you taught me from a young age. You´re always with me. I love you Pop and I´ll never stop missing you.
"Ya didn´t think your Pop was gunna leave ya there stranded did ya?!" - said my dad Joe Swoboda on one of the many occasions that he saved the day.
Love you Pop.

Sometimes I still get the urge to call you after I get off work just to chat about our days and laugh together for hours like we used to. They say time heals everything, but man does it still hurt every time I cant call you and hear your voice or visit you and give you a big bear hug. But Im grateful you are with me in spirit and that I will see you again one day. I will always find peace in knowing that. Love and miss you so much, always.

Miss you so much every day daddy. I don't understand this, but I'm trying. I couldn't imagine growing up with a better father than you. You always knew how to make me smile, laugh, and feel better no matter what. I wish I had your laugh because it was the most contagious thing there ever was. You were always there for Aaron, Dave, and me in any way you possibly could be. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. You still left too soon dad, but I guess I know you'll be there through your kids' milestones in spirit. You were my best friend. Watch over the family and friends. Love and miss you more than words can express to anyone. I'll hear you in my heart. Rest in peace. Your daughter.

Joe, As many others have said, you left this word too soon. I know we didn't hang out alot together but when we did cross paths you were always the good guy. The last time I saw you I mentioned to you that I had a picture of you from Larry's Halloween party, I wish I could have shown it to you, you would have had a good laugh. I was drivng down Old Colchester Rod and said "Oh, Joe." I will miss you. May God be with you always. Rest in Peace. Your friend.

To the Swoboda family, we feel your pain. We knew Joe professionally, however, that was also to know him personally--he is the same in both capacities. Every encounter, in person or otherwise, ensured gut laughter and Joe, most importantly, standing by his word. When Joe left, a huge hole was formed in our world, and we imagine that he gently waved goodbye--then an earthquake followed and then a hurricane... We suppose each day will rearrange all our lives to acceptance that Joe made a deeply profound impact, and is just away.

Joe, you're in our hearts always, the kids will keep you with them forever. You left us too early, I wanted to share so many more of the kid's life events and milestones. You were supposed to be invicible, I'm still waiting for you to appear and make us laugh. If we did nothing else right, we raised two of the most beautiful, kindest, smartest and most stand up kids. Love always, Tara
