I had the honor of playing basketball for coach Bob Doll at Niles McKinley high school in 1967-1968. He was a great teacher and motivator, and by far the best coach Ive ever had. He was one of the biggest influences in my life onworking hard and becoming successful at whatever career I chose. Rest In Peace, Coach.

Sadness fill me with the passing of Robert. He and I became close in the early '80's during my time in Portsmouth. He was kind to me and my Gram, Bernice McNamara. We enjoyed his company very much. He was the closest thing to a brother that my father, Brian, would ever have. My warmest thoughts are with the family.

Since my dad, Tom Tipton, passed away in June of 2011, Bob always remembered to send a birthday card to my mom, Janice, on Nov, 28, Dad's birthday. So sweet. That thoughtfulness meant so much to us all. Also remember his fondness for pumpkin pie!
