Sharyn Ann Sovia, age 71, of Watertown, passed away peacefully July 29, 2025 at Waterbury hospital.
Sharyn was born February 7, 1954 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late John Sovia and Jeannine (LaPerle) Brickett. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and attended Eastern Connecticut State University. Sharyn had worked for many years for the Town of Watertown Recreation Department teaching kids cooking classes, which she loved immensely. In addition to working with children, Sharyn loved music and was an avid Beatles fan and an even bigger John Lennon fan. She enjoyed watching QVC and buying the latest fashions to add to her eclectic clothing collection. She enjoyed reading and learning about spirituality, always expanding her self-discovery and inner growth. Despite all her physical challenges throughout her life, Sharyn always carried herself with a positive attitude and a smile, never meeting a stranger.
She leaves her daughter Jillian Anne Leca and her husband Tony of Watertown, three brothers: John Sovia of Hartwell, GA, Paul Sovia of Southington, Glenn Sovia of Greenbrier, TN and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Steven Sovia and her sisters Darleen McGrath and Anne Sovia.
Arrangements: Funeral services for Sharyn will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 7 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m.
