Jason Richert Obituary

Jason Carlyle Richert

Jason Carlyle Richert, lovingly known to many as J.J., 42, of Bellevue, Washington left us suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2012 doing something he loved: riding his Harley Davidson in Eastern Washington, with Patty, his soul mate and wife.

Born June 19, 1970 in Seattle, Washington, he was a lifelong resident of the Greater Eastside. Jason will be remembered for his love of life, his kind and generous spirit, and his big warm laugh and smile that made everyone around him happy. Married on October 11, 2008, Patty and Jason's love for each other was exceptionally rare, and moved those around them.

A great Dad who always knew how to make people laugh; J.J. was an expert at goofing off with his kids; and enjoying regular camping and boating trips, and going fishing. He was, also, an active member of the Renton Lions Club and the Seattle Swiss Society.

Jason was a journeyman electrician, at the time of his death serving as a commercial electrician with oversight of the 520 Pike Tower in downtown Seattle.

He is survived by his family who treasured him: his wife Patty; his children Mackenzie and Griffin Richert (and their mother, Deanna Richert); stepchildren Marissa, Abigail and Isaac Geppert; parents Roger and Rosemary; 4 brothers: Lance (Stephanie), Todd (Michele), Mark, and Bryce (Ai); and many nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 8, 2012, at the Renton Lion's Youth Camp, at 2:30 p.m.

Donations may be made in his name to the Renton's Lions Youth Camp, PO Box 554, Renton 98057. We are also opening a memorial fund for his children at Bank of America details will be shared at the Celebration of Life.

I worked in another building "with" Jason for the same company. I only had a few encounters with Jason, but each one meant I was in for a "thousand watt" smile and a fantastic sense of humor. Jason was a sincere, genuine and kind man - he will be missed by all that knew him. I offer my sincere condolences to his family.
