My Dad Gerald Rawlins always went to Dr. Wilcher and took my siblings and I there growing up too. I remember his kindness each and every time, and he was a wonderful doctor! I am sorry for his passing. The family are in my prayers! God is with him now! Christi

I was so sadden to read this. We exchanged Christmas cards every year. He was my doctor and delivered my two girls in the 1970's. He opened his office at 1AM when I was in labor, just so I didn't have to go to the hospital and sit. He sent me home and told me to get some sleep, not ready yet. I remember my friend Leah Spirk, who recommended Dr. Wilcher to me as I was new in the area, told me he went to the store and bought ginger ale and brought it to her house because her son was sick and she didn't have a car to get the ginger ale. In the over 30 years I have moved back to NY I have not found another doctor like Dr. Wilcher. Sympathy to his family.

Beth, your father was beyond words the best doctor in the world and it broke my heart when he retired. He pulled me through pneumonia, delivered my first child and helped me through many other issues of health that arose. He was also our doctor to Vandalia-Butler high school. He came to both of my parents viewings having treated them as well. This mattered... taking the time to continue to care. He was an asset to Vandalia and he will be sorely missed. I was actually thinking of him recently and hoping all was well. I'm so sorry for your loss Beth. Rebecca (Search) Lee

I was a patient of Doc's until he retired and some of my fondest memories of him was the golf outfits he sometimes wore to work. They always were bright and colorful and added a lot of humor to the office.

Hat's off to Doc for all of the great care he gave me and my family.

Sincere condolences to Doc's family, I know you will miss him very much.
