Margaret "Putt" Cummings passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025 at the age of 95. She is survived by her son, Tom Cummings, Jr (Dottie); daughter, Cathy Schaefer (David); grandchildren, Chris Cummings (Joanna), Steve Cummings, Cody Walker, and Great Grandson, Micah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Cummings, Sr.; her parents, Graham and Susie Wright; brother, Graham Wright and sisters, Susan Schoonvel, and Mary Lyle.
Putt was born in Clarksville, TN and moved to Nashville at the age of 5. She met Tom Cummings at Hillsboro High School; they were married at the age of 20, and shared a beautiful life together. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished friend by many.
Putt was a hard worker and always gave her all to everything she did. A few of her accomplishments were: Owned a Welcome Wagon business, Assistant Personnel Director at Cain Sloan, opened and owned "The Tea Room" in Germantown, Tennessee, and was a make-up artist for the Nashville Network. She was one of the founding members of the Robert I. Moore Sunday School class at Brentwood United Methodist Church.
To celebrate her life, there will be a service at Brentwood United Methodist Church Thursday, October 2nd at 2:00PM. Her family will receive friends at 1:00PM prior to the service. Inurnment in the Columbarium will follow the service. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Robert I Moore Genesis Class.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org.
