Robin Twist

Robin Twist, the stepfather of actor and One Direction singer Harry Styles, has died of cancer, according to multiple news sources. He was 57.

Twist married Styles’ mother, Anne Cox, in June 2013; she survives him. Styles, 23, served as best man at their wedding in Congleton, Cheshire, England. The Twists celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary earlier this month.

Anne Twist posted a photograph of the happy couple on her Instagram account with the caption, "Thank you for all the anniversary wishes," ending the sentence not with a period, but with a heart emoji.

Cox broke up with the “Dunkirk” actor’s father, Desmond Styles, when Harry and his sister, Gemma, were young children. Robin Twist, whose son, Mike, and daughter, Amy, were from a previous marriage, had been in the singer’s life since he was 7.

In his 2013 biography, "Harry Styles: Every Piece of Me," the singer related that he looked up to Robin Twist as a father figure.

When the pair were just dating, Styles explained, “I was always asking mum if he was coming over. But she wanted to make sure Gemma (Harry’s sister) and I were okay with him being.

‘She worried a lot so I used to text him and tell him to come over.’”

In addition to his wife, Twist is survived by children Mike and Amy Twist and stepchildren Harry and Gemma Styles.
