Remembering Joanne Borgella

Singer Joanne Borgella, who competed on season seven of "American Idol" in 2008, died of cancer Oct. 18, 2014. She was 32.

Born in Long Island, New York, Borgella was a fashion model with Wilhelmina as well as a singer. In addition to her stint on "American Idol," Borgella appeared on MTV's "Made" and on NUVOtv's "Curvy Girls."

In 2013, Borgella announced to fans that she had been diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer.
