Mom Dies After Saving Daughter

When a routine shopping trip turned deadly, Colleen Segbers gave her life to protect her daughter.

Segbers, 33, and her daughter, Gwen, were in a Walgreen's store parking lot when an SUV suddenly sped toward them. According to sources cited by the New York Daily News, Segbers quickly pushed Gwen out of the way and was then pinned between the vehicle and the side of the building. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Springfield News-Leader. Segbers' daughter was unharmed.

After the accident, a family friend began a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for funeral costs, family needs and future expenses for Gwen. Contributions may be made at the campaign page.
