BOWLING, Horace Lansing "Cap'n"Age 83 of Nashville, TN. February 4, 2013. Preceded in death by mother & step father, Calista & Sammie Jackson; brother, Edgar M. Bowling, Jr. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church and an ordained deacon. He owned and operated his own business, Bowling Tile & Marble. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of The Korean War. He loved sports: football, baseball, bowling and fishing. He managed and coached youth baseball for many years. He was a loving, caring, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Lacey King Bowling; daughters, Vickie (Jack) Wood & Karen (Steve) Osborn; son, Jesse "Lanny" (Karen) Bowling; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Kemp, Lance, Landon (Jada) and Logan Bowling; great grandchildren, Riley, Renee, Jacob, Elizabeth, Alix, Presley, Adyson, Anniston & Bristol. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road by Dr. Ernest Standerfer, Dr. Raymond Langlois & Dr. Gene Mims. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Honors. Active Pallbearers: Landon Bowling, Logan Bowling, Riley Finney, Jack Wood, Steve Osborn, Jason Kemp, Denny Haynes and Joe Lannom. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Wesley Clark Ray and The Marvelous Mix Life Group. Visitation Wednesday, 2-8 p.m. and Thursday, 11 a.m. til 1 p.m. at WOODBINE FUNERAL HOME, HICKORY CHAPEL DIRECTORS, (615) 331-1952. Still Family Owned

Dear Lacey & Vickie & family: Horace was a wonderful man & I am so thankful that my parents Roy & Marjorie Hunter had him as a wonderful friend, you too Lacey; Vickie I have fond memories of us being together as little children & am sorry over the loss of your dear Dad. Mr. Bowling was a fine man and a great inspiration and role model for all of us growing up on Southlake Drive fifty plus years ago. My prayers are with the family. God bless you all.
