Marcus,Joshua and Travis my heart and love are with you. I know your pain is extreme as I know how much you love your Father and how much your Father loves all three of you. If you should ever need anything or just someone to talk to remember....I am here for you! You may always call me or come to my house or Second Blessings. Your Father was loved by so many and will never be forgotten.
SECOND BLESSINGS

David was a wonderful man, so kind and thoughtful to everyone. David, Marcus, Joshua and Travis built our dressing rooms in Second Blessings. They just walked in one day and said, "We hear ya need some dressing rooms built. Well, we are here to build them!"
Every year at Christmas David always came and asked what he could do to help us get food and gifts to our less fortunate. Every single year he has volunteered to drive Santa Claus in the fire truck to deliver food and gifts.
He was so loving, caring, thoughtful, kind and not a lazy bone in his body.
He will be missed my many and especially ALL OF US AT....

I remember meeting David a few months ago when he came by the Texas Forest Service Helping Hands office. We talked for awhile and it was a joy to have met him. We know he is with our Lord and Savior. It is our prayer that the peace that passes all understanding that only God can give will encompass and keep you all during these trying times!

I know you're all in a time of sorrow and that you miss him very much, and will continue to do so in the days ahead. But know this: It's only for a little while! There is no time span in Heaven and even though it seems like an eternity to us here, for David it will only be as the blink of an eye before we're with him again.

What a tremendous loss we're all sharing right now.
I met David years ago while doing clinicals. He and LeeFran taught me so much. David spoke often of his children - it was obvious he loved them beyond measure and never grew tired of talking about them!
David was a great "street medic" and loved teaching lowly students like I was at the time. He was incredibly patient and so compassionate.
We will all miss you, David. You were one of a kind, and those who knew you are very blessed for the experience.

I first met David when I became the charge nurse on the Telemetry Unit at Woodland Heights Medical Center. David was invaluable to me and the overall running of the unit. Not only did he carefully and competently watch the heart monitor displays and alert us to any pending problems, he answered our phone and our patient call system and made sure the needs of the patients were addressed promptly. When I arrived for a shift and saw David, I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that we were ALL in good hands with him at the desk. I will keep you in my prayers as you mourn his passing.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
