I can't tell you what a shock this was to me. Matt was a Fiji pledge brother of mine and a groomsman in my wedding. We stayed in contact over the years via email and we were looking forward to catching up during my next trip to Ft Myers. Matt you will be deeply missed as the world has lost you way to early. My heart felt sympathy goes out to all of your family and friends. Rest in peace my brother.

I worked with Matt at RailPass Express and enjoyed his humor and big smiles all of the years there together. Matt was always upbeat, eager to 'go the mile' and kept the office lively. You will be missed by so many people, you have touched many lives in your short time on this earth. Rest in peace Matthew. My condolenses to Laverne and her family, he will always be in our hearts.

Matt was one of the coolest cousins any one could ever have. His giving, and time to everyone is what I remember him most by. He will always be missed, and in our hearts.

I met Matt during our summer in London working and living with Spencer. He was so friendly and welcomed me right in. Matt was so much fun, he always had a smile and was known to break into song with Spencer at any given moment. He was bright and full of life. I am so saddened by this news and my heart goes out to Matt's family and friends. I will always remember him and the great summer we had together.

Words cannot express the sorrow of a life that has ended too soon. Matt and I pledged together, along with 20 others, and were brothers in Phi Gamma Delta at Ohio State. He was always involved, and outspoken in matters concerning the house and it's brothers. Matt was courteous to friends and visitors, and became very distinguished among all of us in our college years. It is obvious he continued that affection towards others until his last day. He will be missed deeply.

Matt, I don't know what to say except for goodbye. Life was definitely not boring with you around. I was shocked to hear that you had passed on, but I hope you have finally found peace with this World. I still think of you and will remember only good times, Christie

Matt was such a kind soul. The world is a poorer place without him, and each of our lives that bit emptier. Where ever you are Matt, know that you have a special place in so many hearts.

He liked to look his best :-)

Dear Matt
I knew you for such a brief time and yet although I was a complete stranger you welcomed me into your home, gave me a place to stay and looked after me like a long lost family member. You were warm, engaging and very very kind. I am a better person for having known you - my first American friend. Your time here was all too brief but in that short time you clearly touched and warmed so many lives. You will be missed. I just want to send my love and prayers to Matt's family in this time of sadness - you are all in my thoughts.

Matt spent the whole day dressed up like this :-)

I have know Mattie for about 8 years now and he was a very kind and generous person. I was honored to spend the weekend of Ohio State vs. Florida with him on Jan. 8, 2007. We had a very good time. He was a world travelor and I respected him in many ways. He was going to come visit us in South Lake Tahoe in the coming months. He will be sadly missed.

Matt was one of my fraternity brothers. He was one of the first Fiji's that I had met. He was in charge of my pledge class. He was one of the main reasons why I chose to become a Fiji. I thought if all the guys were like Matt, friendly, egoless, and fun that the Phi Gam house was the best place for me. It definelty was. I'll miss you buddy.

This is so unfair. You were just in Arizona over Christmas and I feel lucky that we (Catie, Gail and I) were able to spend some quality time together. This was really the first time that Catie was able to really know what kind of person you are and she really misses you. I remember the day you were born. You did not like to take your naps but I was always able to lay down with you and get you to sleep. The trips through Colorado, the Spring Breaks in AZ, along with other adventures in Ohio. The yearly phone calls and family fun as Michigan and Ohio State played every year around Thanksgiving. I will miss those calls win or lose it was fun. You will be missed, I was so excited that you were thinking about moving out here to AZ with us. You will be missed and you will always be in my thoughts. I know you will be looking out for us. Zio Franco words alone cannot express my feelings, but always know you have a whole family around you for support. Arizona welcomes you anytime.

Love,

Dennis Panella

It saddens me to learn that my first true real friend in life has passed. Matt and I were the best of friends in grade school. He and I were on the same soccer team and we spent the night at each others house all the time. I remember the day we became "blood brothers" too. We each whacked ourselves on the knuckes with a comb until they bled and touched our knuckles together. I will always remember my buddy.

Matt was a dear friend through many of our most formative years and I have felt his influence in my life often and always with a smile. I'm sorry about the recent years in which we fell out of touch and would give a great deal to have just a little time back. I know however, that he touched many more lives in the time we've been apart and for that I am thankful. My heart grieves for his family and friends. I am proud to have known such a wonderful person and I will miss him terribly.

Matt and I grew up together as neighbors. We used to walk home from elementary school and always found something to get into as we were growing up. Matt was a friend that I cherished through childhood and into adulthood.
His sincerity was ever-present in our friendship. He could look straight trough me and know my feelings; he would give the best advice, and always have a laugh to follow any serious conversation.
Matt wrote me a letter, after a friends wedding, giving me wisdom in my own life as well as complimenting those around us. I still have that letter and read it whenever I am down or need a friend.
Matt, you are loved by many and by me. You are the smartest man I know and I only wish peace with your resting spirit. God love you.

Matt was my cousin and will always be remembered by me. Matt was always someone that I could count on to be there for me when I really needed him. If I can be half as generous and kind as he was I will be content. His passing leaves a hole in my heart and I will treasure the memories that I have of him. Matt, buddy I miss you and will always love you.
