I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Bannister and also enjoyed accompanying him while on his several visits to Korea back in the day. After nearly 39 years working for DynCorp, I can tell you he was reason DynCorp was #1 in the field, Bar None. He was highly respected by every employee, mainly because he truly cared for the employees and the mission before the bottom line was counted. My condolences to all who knew him.

My sincere condolences to the family of Mr Bannister. This comes to you very late - I just wanted to share with you: I’m close to retirement and searched the web “Dynalectron pension” and found this - I worked at Dynalectron Norco Div in California - Mr Bannister visited the Norco branch late 1980’s - I was working up in the front office (nobody important- just a clerk) when he asked me what my name was and I told him “Diana, I work in contracts”. A few years go by until his next visit - when he saw me he said “Hi Diana” HE remembered my name! I felt so important that the President of the company with thousands of employees remembered my name. And I remembered him as always having a great big smile and very tall :) He made me feel special that day which left a life long impression on me. I’m so sorry for your lost - he was a great man - God Bless

Dan will be missed certainly, and remembered fondly in so many circles. And for so many good reasons. Oh, what a life and what a legacy! I grew up in Northern Virginia's business community looking to Dan as one of a select few "titans." He built more than a company; he built and fought for an industry...and for a state and its people. He gave so much to so many, and I am so proud to have been one touched by him and his many qualities. He stood tall in every way. And he always will so stand. God speed, Dan!

Dan,
It is hard to express how much I will miss fun times with you and your family, working on projects, getting advice from you, sharing special times, traveling, water skiing, jet skiing, shopping, looking at houses and partying. I remember when we together stained the chairs, wallpapered, hung pictures, and celebrated special occasions. You were a great conversationalist, inspiring mentor, model leader and warm good friend. I will always remember you. As Flavia said in a card, "some people come into our lives and quickly go, others leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same."

Dan Bannister has been a friend, mentor, client and role model for 27 years. He was an original thinker, and a man of enormous energy and integrity. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many for whom he has had a positive influence over the years. I am certainly one of those.

I had not met Dan until we had a chance meeting at our urologist's office not too long ago. I mentioned that the office staff sometimes got my & his appointments mixed up. He was such a warm gentleman and when I mentioned my prostate cancer, he was very encouraging. Wish I'd known him better. My sympathies to the family.
Dan Bannister, a truly great man.
