Gregory Salas Obituary
Gregory Anthony's life was too short for him to fulfill his dreams. However, Tony lived every day to the fullest. He led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He enjoyed music, running, sleeping late and hanging out with friends. His gentle smile and caring attitude touched the hearts of those around him and there was never a person who wasn't his friend.
There will never be a day that goes by that we do not think of our son. We miss you, Tony, with all our hearts, and you will never be forgotten.
Tony is survived by his loving parents, Danney and Adrianne Salas; brothers Danois Salas and his wife, Monica, from Albuquerque, and Ramon Salas and his wife, Leann, from Okinawa, Japan; five nieces, Allissa, Andrea, Malina, Alliyah and Alannah; one nephew, Anthony Luis; his godparents Nancy Kimbrell and Ceasar Ray Salas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Regodio, and Guadalupe Rodriguez and paternal grandparents Danois and Andrea Salas.
Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at St. Jude Catholic Church in San Patrico by Porfiria Vinn. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the church following the rosary at 9:30 a.m. with Deacon Jack Shuster, celebrant.
Interment will follow at Picacho Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 First St., Alamogordo.
Should friends desire, donations can be made to the Tony Salas Memorial Cross Country Runner Scholarship Foundation at First National Bank in Alamogordo, account number 94586220.
The Salas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.

I learned so much from this amazing person and athlete! He was definitely the big brother that Jason and I needed. Always smiling and spreading laughter...there was never a dull moment around Tony. It was a pleasure to be your friend and teamate.

After High School I lost touch with Tony but over the past year through Facebook I was able to communicate with Tony again. I will never forget the good times through school while running Track and Cross Country with Tony. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. I was not close to Tony, but I know he was a great guy. I remember back in the 4th grade, he told me of a memory he had, back when we were in kindergarten. In his words we escaped school with my cousin JC and ran to my grandparents house, which was just across the street. Silly kids! I don't remember that ever happening, but it must have been a good time ;) I'm saddened with this news. And I wish I could help. I know there's not much I can do, but know I am praying for you all during this time of grief. Salas family I was shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Tony. He would come to my home often with my daughter, Jennifer Morales, when they were in high school.
