I had the pleasure of knowing Virginia for many years thru the Reserve Officers Association, of which Virginia and Joe were both very active. She was a true Southern lady and always showed great affection for all she knew. She will be remembered and will indeed be missed.

I grew up with Virginia’s son Chris. He was one of my best friends. Virginia was a wonderful neighborhood mom. We could always stop by her house for afternoon snacks and talks. She made time for her children even with her own busy schedule. She knew where we were and what we should be doing and did her best to guide us in the right direction. Virginia was an involved mom and a caring mother. Virginia touched many of our lives and helped us to become better young adults. Mount Vernon Woods was a much better neighborhood because of her. To Joe, Chris and Kay I know that you will miss her cheerful wit and sound advice.

I did not know Virginia very long, but wanted you to know what an impact she had on me through United Methodist Women at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. She was a great southern lady and we will miss her terribly. Her devotion to her church and to UMW was extraordinary.

May God's blessings comfort and keep you during these difficult days. My prayers are with you, Joe, and with your family.

Dear Joe and Family, Through many years of knowing Virginia in ROAL, I have always thought of her as a "True Southern Lady". Soft spoken, she had an iron will and often helped others to see things her way...never raising her voice. She will be greatly missed by not only you the family, but also by many friends from around the world.

My prayers are with you as you celebrate Virginia's life and contributions to all who knew her.
