To the Filipczak Family -
My deepest sympathy is with you all. I just read the article in the Howard County Times about Carol's work with the HC Conservancy.
I worked with Carol very early on in her career in advertising. I believe (if I remember correctly) that she and I worked together at W.B.Donor & Company in the late 70's. She took over their "Information Center" from me when I moved on to a job in marketing research.
I remember her smile and her laugh. She was always a delight to be around. Things were never stressful for Carol.. they just got done.
Although I have not seen her in years, she remains in a special place in my heart.
God bless.

Dear Jim & family,
My deepest sympathy at your great loss. Carol will be missed by family, friends and the greater Howard County Community. She gave of herself unselfishly to help the citizens of this County have a better future. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with her on local issues for many years.
She understood the importance of good governance whether at the local level or the national level and worked endlessly to help citizens understand the issues and the importance of participating in the political process. She made Howard County a better place to live.
Her warmth, openness, intelligence, strength, commitment, and caring will be sorely missed. She truly made a difference.
Her departure is a great loss to us all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Dear Jim and family,
The Aquarium is very much an extended family to me. When I lost my mother last summer, the support of my dive team did much to remind me of life's precious blessings.
I recently showed my father the picture of Jim on the St. Agnes magazine cover and he smiled with a mutual appreciation for "active aging". He had hip replacement surgery himself not long ago and was impressed to see how quickly Jim was back on duty. My dad was my first dive buddy and I plan to try and get him back in for another guest dive... If Jim can do it, so can he!
While I did not have the chance to meet Carol, I know that the rest of Jim's aquarium family feels the same way I do and sends him their love and support.
My prayers are with you,
Stephanie Richards

Dear Filipczak family,
I knew Carol at RM&D and have many fond memories of her. She was so helpful and kind to me and all who worked with her. I remember how much fun she was on all our new business pitches, secret santa and creative off-sites! She was so calm and thoughtful, two things that are rare in our business. She was so smart and always one step ahead of everyone else. She was very excited one day and told me that she had been doing some research and really thought bottled water was going to be "big". That was 1987. I wish I had listened to her.
I am so sorry to learn about her death and know that she will be missed by not only her wonderful family but her colleagues and friends.
Sadly, Margie Weeks

Jim and family,
I worked with Carol at RM & D about 25 years ago. I was so surprised and sorry to hear of her passing. I just wanted to let you know what a wonderfull lady she was, so super helpful and the most pleasant person to work with. Even after I left RM&D she helped me with some research projects. She also was alot of fun and joined us on our many forays back when we were all energetic young party animals. I've always thought so fondly of her and know she will be greatly missed.
All my best to you all, Julie Salter

Carol worked with us for many years at Richardson, Myers and Donofrio advertising agency in Baltimore. She was fabulous at her job and was able to save all of us much time and consternation as she effortlessly pulled information of all sorts pertaining to whatever new business pitch, client review, ad campaign...you name it, she was on it.
That said, Carol was not only one of the smartest people we knew but also one of the nicest.
May she rest with the angels.

Dear Jim,
So many memories flood in...Carol's thoughtfulness, her direct and loving smile, her wise approach to problem solving, her intelligent grasp of history and issues, her commitment to creating a sustainable and better community and world.... When Carol entered a room, a meeting, a gathering - she was an elegant presence.
And, she has left that legacy in all of our hearts, a memory I cherish and which will continue to be with me in the circles where we have worked together - and elsewhere.
My gosh, how much I will miss her. And, how much my heart goes out to you in the years ahead.
Sent with much love and support!
