Dick Working had a wonderful impact on my life and the lives of countless young men. I had the privilege of spending 26 wonderful summers with Dick at Camp DeWitt in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Dick was the Associate Director at Camp DeWitt and he had many responsibilities including recruiting campers, coaching baseball, directing the Saturday night campfire program, and overseeing the Sunday morning chapel program. Dick was outstanding in all of these roles using his vision and compassion to encourage our campers and counselors to reach their greatest potential. Dick was a loving family man who inspired those around him by the wonderful example he set. We are all better today because of the time we spent with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wonderful family.

To the Working Family- your Dad and Mom were great friends to my parents for many years, and I loved playing baseball for your Dad during my years at McDonogh. You were lucky to have such great parents, my thoughts are with you at this time. This news brought back many great memories of your Dad for me.

My condolences to the Working family, especially to Mike who was a best friend during my years at McDonogh. I have fond memories of Coach Working and his family, as I was a frequent visitor to the family home in Jane Bay. I remember Coach telling me that my southern accent was so strong that he couldn't even understand me curse. Tom Turner, Class of 1966.

DearCheryl, Jonathan, and family,
We were so sorry to hear of your father's (grandfather's) passing. He was an incredible man and one of the real legendary figures in McDonogh's history. From the classroom to the athletic fields, he led with passion, integrity, and a true sense of personal engagement. He was a tremendous role model for all of us. He will be missed, but never forgotten in the greater Baltimore community! You all are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.

Sorry, to hear of the Coaches passing. I am surprised after all of these years how the News hit me. He was my Head Football coach then and, in my mind, still is. My condolences to all of the family and especially to Mike who I played football with. God Bless all.

To The Working Family-
As a young student, I loved Dick (Mr. Working), a tough and compassionate math teacher whose playful twist of one's ear (and mine often) is still legendary in the halls of Finney Building. He will certainly rest in peace having left us all with fond memories, and may you be comforted by the rich legacy he created. By the way, he was one of the few folks in the McDonogh Family who always called me Jonny!
Take care,
Jonny Aaron
