James Marrs Obituary

James W. "Jim" Marrs, Sr., 71 of Borger passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 in Sinton, Texas.

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Borger Elks Lodge #1581 with Ralph Pumphrey of Borger officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Family will be at 1418 Marigold St.

James William Marrs was born August 13, 1945 in Honey Grove, Texas. He married Cheryl Large October 21, 1967 in Corpus Christi, where they lived prior to moving to Borger in 1976. James loved riding his Harley, playing golf, woodworking, crafts, working on properties, and watching cooking shows. He was always telling everyone he was a super genius.

James is preceded in death by his parents Wanda and Al Harvey, brother Ronald Marrs, and great granddaughter Rebeckah Smith.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl; son James Marrs and wife Courtney of Borger; daughter Karie Hudson and husband Kenny of Eagle Pass; brother Donnie Marrs of Kerman, California; three sisters June Jubeck of Wisconsin, Diane Marrs, Hope Floyd of Amarillo; eight grandchildren Darryn Hudson of San Antonio, Kenneth J. Hudson and wife Carmen of Big Spring, Chris Marrs of Borger, Matthew Marrs of Amarillo, Jazzy Smith and husband Wesley, and Erin Peterson, both of Borger, Kaitlynn Marrs of Amarillo, Cheyenne Peterson of Borger; great grandson Tyler Chase Hudson of Amarillo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
