Fae Outhwaite Obituary

Fae L. Outhwaite

BUCYRUS: Fae Louise Outhwaite, 89, of Bucyrus died Monday, February 3, 2014 at The Inn at Orchard Park in Bucyrus where she resided for the past eight years.

She was born December 6, 1924 in Ballville Twp., Sandusky County to the late John and Lesta (Baughman) Zickefoose. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1942 and moved to Bucyrus later that year to work for Western Union. Fae met Paul R. Outhwaite and they were married May 16, 1948. He preceded her in death August 27, 1997. She worked in city government as the Bucyrus City Clerk and was secretary of the Civil Service Commission for over 50 years. Fae also worked as a school secretary and operated O's Coin Laundry. She enjoyed bowling and traveling, especially trips to Lake Erie and dinner out with friends.

Fae was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Bucyrus Chapter #3, Business & Professional Women, M.O.M.C.C.L. Mother's Club and volunteered for the American Cancer Society. Fae loved her community. She and Paul were known to drive through Bucyrus late at night looking for ways to improve the town.

Fae is survived by two children, Susan (Philip) Capron of Baltimore, Md. and Paul (Debora) Outhwaite of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren, Meredith Capron, Danielle Capron, Philip Capron, Jessica (Blair) Mattern and Megan Outhwaite; three great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Owen and Colin and her brother-in-law, Warren Outhwaite who visited her faithfully at Orchard Park.

In addition to her husband of 49 years, Fae was preceded in death by her brother, Haldon Zickefoose and sister, Evelyn M. Smith.

The Outhwaite family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5 from 4-7 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where the funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with her nephew, Pastor Warren Outhwaite, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the Aumiller Park Pool Fund which Fae was instrumental in seeing built during her husband's 16-year mayoral administration. Checks can be made payable to "City of Bucyrus" (Memo: Pool Fund). Memories are encouraged on her obituary page at www.wisefuneral.com.
