Your father was a very special man, so knowledgeable and caring about the beauty of gardening. Many garden stores are in between my home and the Garden Spot...needless to say- I always found myself back there where it was real. The best cocoa shells in Western New York; your dad shared his special way to plant tomatoes. I truly loved his garden book and when he would thumb through it looking for the answer which he usually already knew! My prayers and condolences to all.

Dear Amy, Sue and Paul, Ellen, Mark and Karen and your children,

I cannot find words as I think I am still in shock and disbelief. Mr. P has always been a wonderful father, husband, neighbor, friend, gentleman and a fine businessman.
I am hoping you all find the strength to get through this and pray that you all feel the love and support of those around you.
will miss the occasional talks he and I would have during my visits to town. I have much respect and love for your Dad, as do my husband Jim and my children. We are feeling much sadness and loss at this time. He was so wonderful to my Mom especially since my Dad has been gone. They formed a very supportive relationship and she will miss that.
So sorry we cannot be there, but we send our most sincerest love and support to all of you.

Love,
Carol, Jim, Ali and Elliot Loncar

To all of the Pinker family,

As customers of The Garden Spot for over 20 years, please know how much your Dad will be missed with his wonderful knowledge of flowers and gardens.I will think of him, everytime my clematis blossoms. His smile and sense of humor always made my trip to The Garden Spot more fun.
It was truly a joy to know both of your parents and wish them peace together once again.
Our deepest sympathies to you all, at this most difficult time.

To the family and friends of Mr. Conrad Pinker, I am so sorry for your tragic loss. He was my "Cocoa Shell Man".
I too, am one of the many loyal customers who made their annual pilgrimage to The Garden Spot. I could always count on Ken for a laugh or two and some great advice. His passion wasn't for making the sale, but rather for sharing his expertise and for making things grow.
Each time I see those wonderful cocoa shells in my garden, I'll think of him and say a little prayer.
God Bless You, Mr. Pinker... I will miss you.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I grew up across the street from him and your mother on Titus street in Buffalo. I even babysat you all until you moved out to West Seneca. My husband and I have frequented the nursery for a long time back to when he and Joan started it. We are going to miss our annual trek to Harlem road for our sprinter geraniums and our ceramic goose costumes. Our deepest sympathies. Dennis and Chris (Zelma) Krol

Dear Sue and the Proknal Family,

We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of a wonderful father, cherished grandfather, brother and friend to many.

During our recent visit to The Garden Spot, Ken spoke so highly of his family and with a huge smile talked of how proud he was of Paul & yourself and for what his grandchildren have accomplished so far.

May the peace of the memories of the love he shared comfort you now and in the days ahead.

The sorrow of the faithful is not that of permenant loss, but the tender sense of sadness that comes in saying good-bye for now to someone we love. May today's sorrow give way to the peace and comfort of god's love.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My wife and I would make our annual trip to the Garden Spot each spring for Cocoa Shells for about the past 10 years. He was a great guy and certainly loved and truly missed his wife Joan. We had a really "special" conversation with him this last year that nearly brought tears to our eyes. He told us to look each other in the eyes and tell each other "I Love You " everyday of your life. He said because take it from an old man someday your opportunity will be gone. He is finally re-united with Joan -
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family

Connie was a high school friend of my mother's. After their 30 year reunion, the group of friends who were once seperated stayed in contact, with the help, kindness, thoughtfulness and booming personality of Connie Pinker. Connie would pick up my mother and another gentleman that schooled together and take them to gatherings, out to lunch or even to visit another person who might've been hospitalized or in a nursing home. He was a true gentleman. Always thinking of others, being helpful. Friendly and interested in others. I have three teenage boys who met him and thought very highly of him immediately. He had abundance energy, a love of life and in my opinion just a phenomenal person who I thank the Lord for having met and been part of my life as well. Sadness on his death and especially the way it ended for a person who lived so good. God Bless Connie, and I'm sure he will. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I lived in the blue house for many years behind the greenhouses & Ken and Joann were wonderful people. She was very helpful since I also have type 1 diabetes and Ken was my "go to" person for all my gardening questions. I was so saddened to find out what had happened. Now the two of them are together again in heaven...God Bless! Karen

To the family of Conrad Pinker: I was so sad to learn of this senseless tragedy. I looked forward to my visit to the Garden Spot at the start of each summer to purchase cocoa chips but more so for the chance to chat with Mr. Pinker. I loved his sense of humor. He often spoke of his wife; about how much he missed her and wanted to be reunited with her. God was listening. He will be greatly missed.

Dearest family of Conrad, I am so very sorry about his tragic death. I had met him at the Garden Spot many years ago as I was buying flowers for my departed loved ones. He suggested that I plant portulakas and use milorganite. Boy he was right. Ever since that time, I always plant the portulakas. As I purchased my flowers this year, we had a wonderful, touching conversation that made me smile. I will never forget him for his kidness, smile, portulakas and milorganite. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May he rest in peace.
