Frances Simonds Obituary

Frances Simonds CHARLESTON - Frances Caroline Simonds, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on April 1, 2013. She is the daughter of the late Frances Reese and John C. Simonds of Charleston. She was born on August 3, 1931, in Charleston. Frances graduated from Holton Arms High School in DC, and received a BS from the College of Charleston. She retired to Saluda, NC in 2001. In 2012 she moved to Fairfax, Virginia to be near her son and grandchildren. Frances was a member of the Colonial Dames and Daughters of the Revolution. She owned an antique shop, and enjoyed yard sale hunting for hidden treasures. Her true passion was animals, offering her warm loving home to the stray and abused in her area; it was common to see up to five dogs in her house. Frances is survived by her son and daughter in law, Steven and Kristin Sheppard, of Centreville, Virginia and two grandchildren, Aaron and Carolina Sheppard, as well as her two brothers, John and Charles Simonds of Charleston. Memorial services will be at St. Michaels, the date is still being determined. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston
