My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Giles Sr., Giles, Jr. Debbie, Judy, Nancy, Jerry and all grandchildren and to all Betsy's friends.
May your memories bring you comfort as my memories bring comfort to me.
Betsy will always live in my heart since we met in Buckhannon, WV. in 1945 or 66 yrs. ago when we were about 8 yrs. old. We were best friends through the years. I enjoyed viewing all the pictures of the past with her parents, her wedding, even my picture with Betsy in 1975 at Daytona Beach in our bathing suits. Our children had such a great time together.
What fun we had when we got together viewing old pictures of our high school days old friends, our children and grandchildren. They were all special times. Our last visit was in 2005 for our 50th high school reunion.
Just days before she passed and a couple days before she started chemo she wrote to me via email. She was afraid of the unknown and about Giles Sr, Debbie, Giles Jr. and the grandchildren. I said, "Betsy, just stay strong and they will also be strong." My prayers were with Betsy and
her family the week before she passed away. Since I have
no addresses or phone numbers of her children or sisters or brother, I would love to hear from them some time.
My email address is [email protected]
May you rest in peace ,my dear friend, Betsy

Our love and sympathy to the Bowman family. We remember an unmarried Giles in the 50's who was at our kitchen table many evenings planning a new Church building for New Hope UMC, Asheboro. Job well done!
