I Loved my Brother Chris. My Brother was a kind, gentle man who would do anything for his family and for anybody. He was always helping someone. He put friends of friends of friends to work. He was a genius. The whole City of Chicago should be grateful to Chris for this fact. After Walter Payton died, he happened to recall a blueprint of the BCBS building and decided, on his own without authorization, to override all automatic light circuit, on particular floors and along with his crew opened and closed the window shades on the building. What people saw that night and for a few days was Walter's #34 illuminated on the face of the BCBS building. Because of Grant Park Soldiers Field and LSD there was an unobstructed view for miles of #34. I think the top building management received so many compliments that it became a consistent illumination billboard for Chicago tributes, especially honoring fallen Chicago Police Officers Star Number
When the White Sox won the World Series many buildingsbecame a source of Sox Pride with the same illuminated tribute. Chris initiated it but few buildings continue.
Thank You Chris for everything you have done for everyone. I feel sorry for your family Jeanine, Brittney and Craig. I know your family is going to miss you. Everyone will miss you.
With love, your brother David
