We are so sorry for your loss. Art was such an inspiration to us all with his humour, knowledge of the family , kindness and his everlasting quest for life. When our kids were in school he corresponded with each and every one of them as they sought out his knowledge of the family tree for their school papers. Always taking the time to help even though he didn't even know them . He was my cousin and an inspiration of health and wisdom to our family. Hugs and prayers are sent your way .

Such a kind person. I feel fortunate to have known him through the Chicago Newspaper Reporters Association and each association and contact was most friendly and enjoyable. He will be missed.

Uncle Art will be sorely missed by those who knew him. And he knew so many. He was such a smart, witty and kind man. I am so glad he was part of our lives and my children's lives as he has made lasting wonderful impressions in our hearts and minds. There are many a great story any of us can share from our time spent with Uncle Art Up North. Thank you for sharing him with us.

When times come again to recount the heyday of newspaper reporting in Chicago I hope to be sitting there with Art. The old Morrison hotel once again will be packed with reporters, wives and friends, politicians, lawyers and more than a few crooks at the annual bash not seen since the days of Hinky Dink and Bathhouse John. Art and I will look round in hopes of finding Lavin. Dynamite, JoMo, Spirko, Bliss, Banana Nose. Woody, Marmaduke. Larry Mulay and the laundry list of colorful characters who made reporting in the 50s and 60s an unequaled experience. Save me a stool Art. .

I attended Amundsen high school with Art and his brother. They were smart and fun.
I am happy Art enjoyed a good long life and
had a loving wife and children and grandchildren. They bring such joy to us in our old age.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. My late husband, Tom Wolfsmith, who passed away in 2009 had a great friendship with Art. They forged their friendship by first working together at the legendary City News Bureau. Tom later went on to work at the Trib until his retirement, but those fun memories at City News Bureau stayed with him forever. I read that he passed peacefully at home and that is to be treasured. May you and your family share the loving and fun memories of your time together.
Rest in God Art Aman.

My Dad was a most interesting man. His passing is a shock and not being able to share with him the interesting events of the week and hear his always unique perspectives will be badly missed. Safe travels and Godspeed, Dad, on this last trip. I already am missing hearing your voice and I will continue to do so, but I am sure that we will see other again one day.

Art worked in our Chicago Loop office with Jim Strong, Pete Nolan and myself in the late nineties in Chicago. We worked political campaigns, and PR and had many, many laughs together. He was absolutely the best company you could ever have, God rest his lovely soul.

I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in what is recorded in the Bible at Jeremiah 29:11 and 12. There it tells us what God's thoughts are for us. Thoughts of peace, not calamity . He wants to give us a future and a hope.

Talk about a shock to the system. Completely unexpected. We talked often, on a regular basis. I'm truly sorry I'm not able to come down there. To everyone in the extended family, my condolences. I'll miss you Uncle Art, you were a mirror image of my own father. Rest in peace....
