Harvey Hearn Obituary

Harvey Hearn

Lexington

Harvey Allen Hearn, 78, of Lexington, Mississippi passed peacefully November 24 with family at his side. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, Harvey's family rejoices that he has been made whole and is now in the presence of his King. Harvey was a devoted father and grandfather, survived by his two children: son, Tom Hearn and his wife, Becky of Kentucky and daughter, Tammy McIlovy and her husband, Randy of Texas. He is survived by four grandchildren: Amanda and James Hearn and Courtney and Keely McIlvoy. He was welcomed into heaven by his father, Thomas Earle Hearn and mother Julia Belle Bailey Hearn.

Having been born in Holmes County, MS, Harvey travelled the world as an employee of Western Geophysical. For many years he was based with his family in the Houston, TX area. He retired in Mississippi where he spent the latter part of his life serving others and dedicating himself to the family of Oregon Memorial Church where he served as a deacon. Harvey loved his Lord, his family and all the others God allowed him to come to know. Even when unable to live at home, he was committed to comforting those around him.

We will gather to honor his life and celebrate his healing during the visitation on Friday, November 30th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Southern Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Oregon Memorial Church on Saturday, December 1st at 12 noon. Oregon Memorial Church, Oregon Road, Lexington, MS 39095. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Bro. Lyn Nations will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tim Joiner, James Killebrew, Zacky Killebrew, Houston Pickett, Virgil King, Randy Matthews, Larry and Bryan Killebrew.
