John T. Morgan, 71, of Evansville passed away at 8:45 pm, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital.
John was born December 20, 1940 in Ft. Gage, IL the son of Arthur and Carrie (Smith) Morgan. He was a sergeant in the United States Army, serving in Germany. John was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He retired in 2005 from Alcoa where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. John enjoyed his family greatly, especially his grandchildren attending their sporting games and other school functions.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Margaret (Wingerter) Morgan of Evansville, sons, John T., Jr. (Heather) of Newburgh, Christopher (Tammy) of Evansville and Kevin (Dawn) of Newburgh, sister, Lola Poenitske (Earl) of Pevely, MO, sister-in-law, Wanda Morgan of Chester, IL, brothers, Joe (Norma) of Pekin, IL and George (Louise) of Canton, GA, grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Chase and Allie Morgan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Helen Jung and brothers, Arthur A. Morgan, Jr. and Charles Morgan.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Monday, November 19, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville with Father Jeff Read officiating. Burial will be Private.
Friends may call from 2 pm until 6 pm, Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S Green River Rd., Evansville, IN 47715 or St Jude Children's Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
