Nancy Ann Skillern

Nancy Ann Skillern, 66, of Oregon St., passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the West Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Rogers of the combined First Christian and First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Services have been entrusted to West Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at westfuneralhomellc.com Nancy Ann Davis Skillern was born to Edward Lee and Hazel V. (Jolley) Davis on August 31, 1949 in Athens, TN. She was raised in Tulia, TX. Nancy and William "Jigger" Skillern were married in May 1973 in Amarillo, TX and moved to Carlsbad later that year. She had a great love of the outdoors and especially hunting and fishing, she was also an avid bowler and traveled all over the country competing in bowling tournaments. She had served as secretary for both the City Bowling Association and the Scratch League. She also served as Secretary Treasurer of the State Junior Bowling Tournament held in Carlsbad. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy is survived by son, Fletcher Skillern and former husband William "Jigger" Skillern, both of Carlsbad, brother Darrin Davis of Lake Roberts, TX and sisters, Debbie O'Conner of Washington State and Victoria Perkins of Silverton, TX.
