Ignacio A. Gonzalez
Dec. 19, 1929 - Dec. 12, 2009
Ignacio A. Gonzalez, 79, of Bloomfield, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Ignacio was born Dec. 19, 1929, in Monticello, Utah, to Jose Pruclencio and Carolina Gonzalez.
Ignacio proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. During his service he received the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lucian; and daughter, Christine Young.
He is survived by his wife, Angelina; brothers, Clyde, Carlos and William; sisters, Pauline, Julie, Angelina, Patricia and Lenore; sons, Michael, Thomas (Gloria) and Jose (Angel); daughters, Sabrina (John) and Marci (Robert); 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 16, followed by the rosary, at Desert View Funeral Home Chapel of Shiprock, North U.S. Hwy. in Shiprock.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St., in Bloomfield.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
Pallbearers are Robert and Aaron Toledo, Adrian and Jose Gonzalez and Robert and Martin Valasquez.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Life Care Center in Farmington.
