Michael Muhlenkamp Obituary
He was born May 3, 1952 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Richard J. and Vera (Gelhaus) Muhlenkamp.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Thomas Glaser.
He attended Findlay College; served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Haleakala. He was retired from BASF.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he taught PSR; a member of the Knights of Columbus; was a coach for Greenville Baseball; served on the board for youth football and the City Park Board.
He is survived by his wife, Becky (Glaser) Muhlenkamp of Greenville; children, Nick Muhlenkamp of Rochester, N.Y., Laura Muhlenkamp of Chicago, Ill., Todd Muhlenkamp of Columbus, Ohio; brothers and sisters and spouses, David and Amy Muhlenkamp of Troy, Ohio, Paula and Nick Cox of Ansonia, Ohio, Ann and Dave Baker of Fort Wayne, Ind., Chris and Rhonda Muhlenkamp of Carmel, Ind.; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Glaser of Mishawaka, Ind.; in-laws, Jane Mason of Mishawaka, Ind., Mary Lou and Ray Cressy of Mishawaka, Ind., Charles and Susan Glaser of West Chester, Pa., Susan and Michael Spadafora of Richboro, Pa., Dick and Molly Glaser of Greensburg, Ind., Bob and Dawn Glaser of Holly Springs, N.C.; stepmother, Margaret Mitchell of Greenville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 233 W. Third St., Greenville, Ohio, with the Rev. Walter Heinz celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Veteran's graveside services are being conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial Contributions may be given to State of the Heart Hospice or Greenville City Parks.

Becky and family, how saddened I was to learn of Mike's passing. He was such a great guy and much liked and respected by Jack. I know how you feel but God will guide you, as Jack's oncologist said to me "just let Jack's spirit guide you and you will do fine" and I have leaned on those words many times.

Becky and Family, I had the joy of participating with Mike in Treaty Company Golf league back in the early '80s. My last year we were partners. We had a great time together and I always enjoyed running into him from time to time. May God's peace that passes our understanding fill your hearts during this difficult season. Uncle Mike is one of the finest Uncles anyone could have hoped for. It must have been something to see the world through his eyes - he always loved life and all the laughs it came with. How he loved his family - Aunt Becky, Nick, Laura and Todd. God Bless and be with each of you and all those who will miss Uncle Mike.

Dearest Aunt Becky, Nick, Laura, And Todd, I wish with all my heart that I could be there with you surrounded by so many loved ones cherishing and celebrating Uncle Mike. He was an incredible man, great father and friend. I'm so happy for all the years we shared cabins and I can still picture him coming in with corn and pork chops. Last time I saw your dad he told me to "hold on tight" to baby Norah. I've thought of his simple piece of advice several times since then and how I'll carry it with me in the years to come. How we loved Mike. Every group was better if he was there. And he was so funny! The best thing about his sense of humor was that it never was hurtful....even the person he was teasing left feeling pretty special! And we would all be laughing.
