MADISON Wis. — Jerome Joseph Morrow, age 89, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on Feb. 22, 2016, from a heart attack. He was born on Oct. 17, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Joseph Morrow and Madeleine Morrow, née Parain.
Jerome served in U.S. Army as a paratrooper from 1945-47. He attended the University of Chicago where he met and married Elaine Lechowich on Sept. 11, 1948. Jerome completed his studies at Ohio State University, receiving a B.S. in physics. He worked as a scientist for the Naval Weapons Lab in Dahlgren, Virginia, and later for the National Bureau of Standards in Gaithersburg, Maryland. After his retirement, Jerome spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors in Utah, Colorado and Wisconsin before his health kept him from hiking.
Jerome is survived by his children, Susan Czarnecki (Alan), Madeline Morrow (Jim Rumbaugh), Christopher Morrow, Michael Morrow (Kati), Margaret Maccani (Steve) and John Morrow (Stacey Huskey); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Morrow; and sisters, Julie Morrow and Leona Nellis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven of his brothers and sisters.
Burial will be held in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, Wisconsin, at 3 p.m. on March 11. A memorial service for the family will be held at a later date in Greenville, Ohio. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
