Isabel Pacheco Obituary

Isabel Ramirez Pacheco
1934-2017

Isabel R. Pacheco was born in Culver City, CA on December 11, 1934 to John and Paula (Negrete) Ramirez; she went home peacefully to the Lord at her residence in Wilmington on February 11, 2017. Predeceased by her parents and her brother, Johnny, she is survived by her husband, Edward Pacheco, daughter, Diana Vasquez and son, Edward V. Pacheco (Lidiette); she is also survived by her sisters, Anita, Paula and Mary. She leaves her legacy behind through her six grandchildren, Jessica (Johnny), Michelle (Oscar), Frank, Andrew, Miguel and Brianna; she also was a proud great-grandma of her five great-grandchildren, Manuel, Isabel, Makayla, Micah and Marla. Isabel instilled the Catholic Faith within her family by being an active, contributing parishioner of St. Peter and St. Paul Church throughout her lifetime; she also donated money religiously to many Catholic organizations and charities. She always put others before her and helped whom she could. She was a true hero to her family and others; in fact she bravely risked her own life at the age of 27 when she jumped off the Henry Ford Bridge to save another's life. She received the Harbor Heroine Award and The Carnegie Medal of Honor, the highest honor allowed to a civilian. It was selfless acts such as these that made Isabel the strong and courageous woman she was; she showed her strength to the very end of her fight. Her heart and soul remained intact, cancer could not touch this. Isabel showed her family love continuously to the very end of her journey. Her beautiful spirit has risen to heaven. Services for Isabel will be held on February 25th at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, Rosary at 10:30, Mass at 1:00 p.m. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits

Ms Pacheco is among the Angels.

I am inspired by a beautiful legacy; one you left not only to your loved ones, but to the world we struggle to understand. Isabel Ramirez Pacheco, your name, and your courage has become part of my hopefulness for the future of America. I look forward to the day in which we as a race, the human race, naturally and freely give of ourselves. We can do this in so many ways.

To the Pacheco children; your mother and grandmother went beyond the scope of kindness. May her light shine continuously and guide you and others on your paths to Glory.
