Doulgas MOOG Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Douglas Fredrick Moog of Williamsburg, Va., died and went home to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday Dec. 13, 2009. At the time of his death, Doug was in Kusatsu, Japan, on a business trip for Canon Virginia, Inc. He was 46 years old.
Doug was born in Battle Creek, Mich., to John Fredrick Moog and Willemina Landolt Moog on Feb. 20, 1963. He grew up in Webster Groves, Mo. After attending Webster Groves High School, Doug went to Michigan State, where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He began working for Newtec Packaging in 1985, upon completion of his education. On April 4, 1987, Doug married his high school sweetheart, Wendy Sue Dysart. Doug and Wendy were blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Aubrey Jane, on Feb. 12, 1989, and their son, Evan Dysart on July 8, 1991, while they made their home in St. Louis, Mo. Doug accepted an engineering position and began working for Canon Virginia, Inc., on Dec, 1, 1992. Doug and Wendy were again blessed with the arrival of their second son, Colin Sage, on March 4, 1995.
As well as being a devoted father and a loving husband, Doug was very active in his church. Doug was an elder at the Williamsburg Community Chapel and spent countless hours with the Children's Ministry. He was also a children's leader for Bible Study Fellowship. In addition to his church related activities, Doug coached many different youth sports teams. Coaching allowed Doug to touch and make a difference in the lives of many children in the community. Doug had a special way of interacting with kids and he always knew how to laugh and have fun. Doug adored his family and was completely involved in his children's activities. He was incredibly supportive in every aspect of their lives.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy Sue Moog; his daughter, Aubrey Jane Moog; his two sons, Evan Dysart Moog and Colin Sage Moog. He is also survived by his parents, John Fredrick Moog and Willemina Landolt Ward; as well as his three brothers, Craig Steven Moog, Peter David Moog and Michael John Moog and their families. Doug will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Williamsburg Community Chapel, 3899 John Tyler Highway in Williamsburg, Va., Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at the same location on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. A graveside service will immediately follow. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bucktrout of Williamsburg.

We were so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He coached our son Jack's first t-ball team when we lived in NNews. We still pull out the videos and watch them sometime of Jack and Evan and Spencer and BJ scampering around the field and Doug always correcting them gently and encouraging them to have fun. He was the perfect kid's coach and just a great guy.

To Wendy,

May the spirit of Almighty God comfort you and your family during this untimely lost, I had the pleasure of being one of Dougs classmates during our development years at WG. He will always be remembered and cherished for he (was) and still is one of Gods special men. May your journey of pain and lost be shorten but your final destination of hope eternal rest with your soul mate be finalized in your walk of faith.

God Bless you

Wendy,
My prayers are with you and your family. Doug always had a ready smile and was so kind hearted in high school. I'll always remember how I got into trouble laughing at Doug's jokes in class, while he would look at the teacher with an angelic expression and never got caught!
God bless you,
LaVerne
