Miguel CRUZ Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - In Memory of the servant of God the Rev. Miguel A. Cruz, departed from us to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2010.
He left a loving wife, Sonia E. Cruz; two daughters, Esther Torres and Elizabeth Plaza; three grandchildren, Saurissha Maldonado, Cecilionetti M. Torres and Nathaniel R. Torres; five great-grandchildren, Shadayra, Dalysha, Richard Maldonado, Addrianna L. Torres and Jezell Palanca.
He was an excellent husband, extraordinary father, brother and Pastor. He was loved by many and admired by all. He has gone home to be with our God and Divine Redeemer.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at the funeral home, with burial following at Albert G. Horton at 1 p.m.

Saurissha, ever since i moved from Hampton, i've been looking at the daily news. Today i saw that your grandfather had passed away. I am very saddened by his passing. He was such a loving man. I spent many days talking with him as we waited for the bus to bring the children home from school. May he rest in peace.
