Betty Melton Obituary
Betty Virginia Griffin Melton, 94, of Saluda, formerly of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday October 24, 2009.
She was born January 13, 1915, in Richmond, the daughter of the late Walter R. and Cora Hottle Griffin.
Her husband, Richard Jackson Melton and a daughter, June Nave also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Ann Ale of Great Mills, Maryland; a son, Paul Melton of Gaithersburg, Maryland; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Hensley of Fredericksburg; and a brother, Earle L. Breeden of Gordonsville.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday October 31, 2009, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Sidney Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.

I think about Aunt Betty and still love and miss her. Her love is shown in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all lovely people. Give Sam and Robin a big hug for me, Aunt Betty.

Dear Charlotte, Paul, and family
Aunt Betty was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Her loving kindness always made us feel welcome and happy to see her. When I saw that she had a great picture of Sam's Mom, she had copies made for Marie and Sam and also sent us a negative. My children and I will always love her and miss her. You are all in my prayers.

Charlotte Ann, Paul and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all and your lost.
Aunt Betty has given us many happy experiences over the years.
When ever you came to visit, she always showed her hospitality by making sure she feed you before you left.
I remember our time visiting at North Beach and then at St Pete.
Aunt Betty and Uncle Dick were always on the move and always young at heart.
They will both always be in my heart.
