Blanche C. Jackson

Blanche C. Jackson of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Laurels Nursing Home.

Blanche was born on August 28, 1931, in Palmyra, Virginia, to the late William and Bertha Magruder Carter.

Blanche is survived by one devoted sister, Helen C. Tinsley and her husband, George, of Charlottesville; two devoted brothers, Andrew G. Carter and his wife, Pam, of Flint, Michigan, and Coleman L. Tinsley of Toronto, Canada; three devoted sisters-in-law, Rebecca Carter of Charlottesville, Faye Carter of Steelton, Pennsylvania, and Anna Carter of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; two devoted nieces, Betty T. Iwobi and Enjoli Tinsley and two devoted nephews, Robert and Michael Carter, all of Charlottesville; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010, at Zion Union Baptist Church with the Reverend Lloyd Cosby officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Mary Banks and family, and the staff at The Laurels for their care of Blanche during her time of illness.

To The Carter and Tinsley Family,

I will never forget the times Blanche lived in the country and would catch me to UVA to work sometimes. We had some times laughing and joking. She was such a joy to talk to after a hard day at work. Those are memories I will always keep with me. May God ease your sorrow.
