Carolyn Moon Obituary
Carolyn Yvonne (Coles) Moon, 61, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born on September 18, 1949, in Buffalo, New York, a daughter of the late John Franklin Coles and Ora Lee (Rush) Coles Wells.
Ms. Moon was a member Union Baptist Church in Scottsville. She loved gardening, walking, and reading the Bible.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Ann Coles of Charlottesville, Terri Banks and her husband, Rodney, of Scottsville, and Cherri Murphy of Oakland, California; a sister, Barbara Shaw of Scottsville; and a brother, James Coles and his wife, Margie, of Scottsville; a very special cousin, Elsie Taylor and her husband, Ralph, of Charlottesville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three nieces and two great-nieces.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville by the Reverend Phillip Carter. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the MICU at University of Virginia Medical Center.
