Deaconess Dorothy Cosby Harris

Deaconess Dorothy Cosby Harris was the youngest of three children, born on January 12, 1924, in Louisa Virginia, to the late Charlie and Jesse Cosby.

Her loving husband, Deacon Harry Harris and son, Harry Jr., preceded her in death.

Her early education was obtained in Louisa County. God called her home for sweet rest on Monday, June 14, 2010.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a loving daughter, Evangelist Gloria Yates; a brother, Deacon James Cosby and his wife, the Reverend Mary Cosby; five grandchildren, Elder Cordell Yates and his wife, Devin, Shonda Harris-Muhammed, and her husband, Demetrius, Shelia Phillips, and her husband, Tory, William Coleman and his wife, Denise, Clifford Ruffin and his wife, Cynthia; nine great-grandchildren; an aunt, Bessie Marrow and her husband, Eddie; three devoted Goddaughters, Barbara Dandridge, Darryl Holt and Gladys Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services, conducted by Evangelist Gloria H. Yates, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 864 Pendleton Road, Mineral, VA 23117. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Thomasson Watson Funeral Service Inc. of Louisa.

My prayers are with you and the rest of the family May God give you comfort in this time of need but one thing for sure you know God has her wrapped in his arms she is in a better place no more pain. she will be smilling down on you everytime you do your best. Just remember she has instilled a lot on in you. Just keep your head up and I love you and I am here for you.
