Edith Mills Obituary
Edith Estelle Hughes Mills, 79, of Keswick, died on Friday, June 25, 2010, at home.
She was born March 30, 1931, in Keswick, Virginia, daughter of the late Oscar Hughes and Laura Green Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Mills Sr.
Edith attended Albemarle County Public Schools and was a member of Union Run Baptist Church.
Surviving her are 10 children, Charlaine Thomas of Camp Springs, Maryland, Terry Mills of Keswick, Freda Feggans of Keswick, Mark Mills of Waynesboro, Robert Mills Jr. and his wife, Eudora, of Auburn, Alabama, Shirley Mills of Tuskegee, Alabama, Mary Pearl Townsend of Tuskegee, Alabama, James Allen Mills and his wife, Elsie, of Keswick, Jesse Mills Sr. and his wife, Berlinda, of Esmont, and Curtis Mills Sr. and his wife, Joyce, of Keswick; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three siblings, William Hearns of Charlottesville, Christine Brooks of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Gracie Hughes of Charlottesville; a cousin and close friend, Elnora Robinson of Keswick; a devoted friend and companion, Alfred Saunders of Charlottesville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and her dog and constant companion, Cindy.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, in the Union Run Baptist Church, with the Reverend Ricky White officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

To the family of Edith Mills, she will truly be missed by me! I didn't know Mrs. Mills long but long enough to know she was a wonderful person to talk to, laugh with and stay on my toes around. She came with open arms and a smile that warmed the room. I felt and she made me feel I was part of the family and will miss her soooo much.
