Eleanora Short Obituary
Eleanora Marshall Short, 91, a lifelong resident of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at the Colonnades.
She was born on August 22, 1919, in Charlottesville, the daughter of the late Charles C. Marshall and Lenora Wood Marshall. Also predeceasing her were her husband, Lawrence A. Short; two brothers, two sisters, and a nephew.
Mrs. Short was the secretary/bookkeeper for Moorefield Auto Parts for many years. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed volunteering at a local soup kitchen, ushering at the University of Virginia events, and traveling with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Larri Alexis Short and her husband, Stephen Reilly, of Washington, D.C. and Christi Evans Short of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901 or to the American Cancer Society, 1445 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
