Dear Harmon and Scott Family,
I've known Trudy since the "PFS" days. A great friendship came out of that working relationship. I left the department about 9 years ago but no matter how much time would elapse, Trudy and I could always pick up where we left off. We would laugh together and we felt so comfortable with each other that we could cry together. Trudy and I reconnected back in early November when she called me to tell me of her illness. She said that she didn't want me finding out about it from the streets because she knew I would be upset with her. That call told me of the strength of our friendship. I had started to cry but she said "Diane, don't do that - I will be okay." In all of her sickness, she was consoling me. She understood how I felt because I had just lost my sister to lung cancer just months ago. I talked to Trudy on Thanksgiving morning to tell her that I was cooking a turkey. She was in disbelief because she knew that I never cooked and didn't know how. She gave me a little cooking tip and told me to tell her how the turkey came out. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to talk with her again. I pray for her passage to Heaven and I pray for the Family.

Love

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
